BEING PART I YAYA SCREENS
curated by Elisa Fink (@__elisafink)
BEING PART explores and connects different dialogues, naming and negotiating intersectional mechanisms of oppression, challenging them and creating empowering spaces of connectivity-belonging and solidarity. The aim is to connect individual dialogues with the collective. All the participants are part of this dialog; either affected or as allies.
Elisa Fink is a Berlin-based queer feminist author and curator. The aim of her work is to start conversations and to discuss social inequalities through film, art and discourse.

Lost Arab is a visual poem exploring the artist’s journey as a queer Arab, asking questions of belonging. How to Carry Water immerses the audience in a world of fat beauty and liberation, one in which marginalized bodies, including bodies of water, are sacred. Mulika is a creative and poetic Afro-futuristic film, addressing neo colonial continuities. Non-binary is a short fashion documentary exploring the middle ground between two genders. Safe Spaces montages found footage of ballroom performers from the early nineties, and overlays it with contemporary statements from LGBTQIA+ refugees. Survivor Manifesto – The Art of Making Kin is a video essay in which trauma survivors cast wild visions of utopian societies.
